Meet Our Team
Kim Jones leads Cropwatch Independent Laboratories, and brings 20 years of experience in macadamias and 35 years in general Horticulture. Kim was previously the Macadamia Industry Development Manager with the Australian Macadamia Society, holding this position for 14 years. Before that, he was a research horticulturist with NSW Department of Primary Industries for 12 years.
Kim has consulted to international aid projects funded by EU, Aus Aid, ACIAR, and specialises in post-harvest technology and quality management for macadamias and other tree nuts. Kim’s consultation experience extends to farmer training and research work in Thailand, Vietnam (Macadamias), PNG, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu (Canarium nuts), Indonesia (Nutmeg), as well as African countries. Kim has lead macadamia study tours in Australia, in Brazil, South Africa and China.

Cropwatch Independent Laboratories is Accredited by the Australian Macadamia Society, and a member of the Australian Macadamia Society since 2010.
Our team includes six qualified kernel assessors plus an office administrator. Kim’s partner and laboratory manager is Keri Jones who joined the business in 2011. Prior to owning and running Cropwatch Independent Laboratories, Kim was employed as the Industry Development Manager with the Australian Macadamia Society. He is a world recognised expert and has an extensive network of international colleagues.
